SUMMER EP - Liner notes

Summer EP is a 5 song journey that kicks off with Pale Blue Dot, a rock and roll driven “song of the summer” bang, complete with guitar hooks and ear worms that will keep you humming all day/summer long.

Followed by Long Way to Go, a laid back groove driven by acoustic guitar, percussion, and muted electric guitar back by a soundscape filled with movement and a healthy portion of spacious flavor crystals from the keyboards.

River Song is the sentimental ballad of the EP, Co-written with Johnny Neel (Allman Brothers Band) who happens to be a Grammy Nominee. Freedog and Johnny wrote the song at Cornu Ranch on the Weber River in Peoa, Utah where Freedog grew up camping and fly fishing nearby in the Uinta National Forest.

When you were Mine, is song about remembering the past and coming to the realization that you’ve changed as a person. Served an a bed of Alt Rock this track grooves until it morphs into a powerful outro where Freedog belts it out until the bitter end. Wow.

Enjoy The Ride, is a calm introspective closer of the EP that explores coming to terms with where we are in life, letting go of the past and ending the search for something more.
